New threat to 2nd A?

A reality that needs to be acknowledged is that without local cooperation - ICE can't effectively deport the bad guys with a low resource operation. Cities and states should work with the federal government.
I agree, but I do think that cooperation needs to be a two-way street. I think it is reasonable for a jurisdiction to refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement if said federal enforcement refuses to operate with normally accepted policing standards like not wearing masks and wearing identification.

Hopefully when the dust settles this will be happening more
Absolutely. I hope so too.
And vice versa, pretty hard to have cooperation when the feds start the conversation with "F-you".
Curious buzz - as this sort of parallels my point. What do you think about your state trying to pass laws like this?

I will say in advance that Gov Gordon did what I would have wanted him to if I were a wy res.

Montana, the gun sanctuary state.

HB258 broadly defines “federal ban” as “a federal law, executive order, rule, regulation that is enacted, adopted, or becomes effective on or after January 1, 2021, or a new and more restrictive interpretation of an existing law that existed on January 1, 2021, that infringes upon, calls in question, or prohibits, restricts, or requires individual licensure for or registration of the purchase, ownership, possession, transfer, or use of any firearm, any magazine or other ammunition feeding device, or other firearm accessory.”

Nuanced.... But something like that already existed in Wyoming when the legislation in my response to buzz was proposed. And it's slightly different...

Unless I continue to miss your point, you seem to be wholly against a state being hostile to the feds on any policy.

My point is that not only is that stance un-American, but your State has passed multiple laws giving the middle finger to the feds regarding firearm laws. How is that different?

What crazy times. Oh how the tables have turned. Does this mean the Dems in blue states like Minn are finally going to acknowledge the second amendment to the Constitution after trying to destroy it for the last few decades?

It would be really nice if they did. It sucks it took a tyrannical pedophile empire for them to see the purpose of 2A but better late then never I guess.

Fingers crossed. If they do, then I would support Meal Team 6 coming to WA just to get across that bridge.

"In the letter, Gov. Gordon wrote that “this Act takes aim at — and potentially vilifies — law enforcement if, in the process of working to apprehend, prosecute, and detain illegal aliens, drug mules, human traffickers, abusers, and other miscreants, they cooperate with the federal government and a gun is involved. Wyoming can do better.”

This law already exists.
