Think you Western guys will enjoy this process. My 2nd day sitting on this 18x24 ink painting.
What I am looking for if anyone has pictures of rock faces I can use for references for the background / foreground.
Thanks
3rd sit. Basic shape and darker values added. Drawing out the landscape.
4th sit working the rocks.

I have a snapshot of the ridge above my fishing camp back in the eighties. Cheap box camera so quality is not great. Also from a distance so probably not what you're looking for. I have a couple of closer shots from Africa on a rocky ridge that might work but you'd maybe need to change the vegetation. Here's one. Nope. Both photos are in my computer. I'll send them along if you're interested.

That painting is looking good. I realize it's got a long ways to go yet. Interesting that you didn't opt to put background in first. Is that because of the medium?

Yes, my medium is ink. Once I have a good rough in on him then the landscape and back to the ram.
Thanks
