Who is headed to NM for rifle lope this weekend? I will be headed south tomorrow with my wife and son for a family hunt with our aunt and uncle. It's going to be a great time. Good luck!

It sounds like New Mexico is in a monsoon state of mind. Seven inches of rain so far this week, may be tough to get them pegged if there is water everywhere. Sounds like it will be like Randy's hunt a few years ago.

Hunted just east of Roy a couple of times. Ranch manager said he cleaned out an old stone barn in case we wanted to camp in it. We just set up our cots in the barn. A few hours later, we realized how lucky we were to have it. A major storm hit, dumping several inches of rain. The rain hitting the tin roof was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Much better than being in a tent!

They usually are the memories that are talked about more than the good days of hunting. I've had more laughs about hunts with missed shots, wet sleeping bags.....we always remember those times more vividly. We are going to make the best of it. I'm sure the ranchers are loving the moisture, just not sure they wanted it all at one time.
