Drew a deer tag for November this year. Only live a few hours away and plan to scout this summer and a couple days before the hunt. Any words of wisdom about the units or what to expect? Taking my dad who's in his mid 60's and has never hunted before. The goal is to get a deer but just being able to spend time in the woods with my dad will be worth the trip for me. I'll even take recommendations and places to stay or a good restaurant. Thanks!
New Mexico 21A & B

I have a cabin down there and spend a decent amount of time in Northern/Central 21A. In the summer we’ll see deer right off the road even mid day. The hunting pressure there is pretty bad though and they all disappear once the shooting starts. Not to say you couldn’t find them still but id imagine 21B would get less pressure.
I was not successful but had one opportunity that was really fun. A doe walked right behind the buck I was aiming for and then he slipped away. I went a day early to scout an area I liked on OnX, most of the areas I really liked turned out to be no good. I would definitely like that tag again knowing the area a bit better
