New commission appointments

It has come to my attention that Emrick is Delia Maloney husband
You can’t make this stuff up, the rampant collusion and cronyism of Polis era appointments is unbelievable. Anyone who has ever tuned in or attended a CPW Commission knows exactly who Delia Malone is, she is the lady from Colorado Sierra Club extolling the evils of hunters and trappers, twisting lies and misinformation. Now her husband, Emerick, is on the Commission along with Jay Tutchton whose significant other, Nicole Rosmarino, noted vocal supporter of eco-terrorism, is the Director of the State Land Board while Rich Reading is the CPW Commission Chair and his wife, Lauren McCain, is on the CPW Habitat Stamp Committee while serving as lead policy analyst for the Animal Welfare Institute. Most all these folks are linked as they worked at some time or capacity for Center for Biological Diversity, WildEarth Guardians, Defenders of Wildlife, Sierra Club, etc.

Wow, who knew Sierra Club was such a bastion of patriarchy and white supremacy. Our new “Guides and Outfitters” rep on the CPW Commission left Sierra Club due to the rampant sexism and racism. Too woke for Sierra Club, but a perfect fit for Colorado Wildlife Commission under the Polis regime.

The letter also criticized both Rast and Silva Blayney as “hostile, confrontational, and dismissive.”

“We as women were treated with the same abrasive approach, despite our gender. Some of us felt discounted due to our no longer being young women,” the letter states.

The letter is linked in the article, but you have to be a member to access it. I wonder if there are any other gems in it.

"Social and environmental issues are often working in parallel." Fran says, "As you become aware of environmental issues and dive down to the root source of a problem, more often than not you see it’s really a social justice issue."

It's not climate change or pollution or human overpopulation, it's social injustice. That's what is destroying habitat and leading to the decline of wildlife populations. Where does she come up with this stuff? CA...that's where.

Fran Silva Blayney has been against mountain lion hunting since at least 2016. It's a free country (mostly) so she's entitled to her opinion, but just so everyone knows the history: 1752524024390.png

The only other anti-hunting post was something about Brumbies(?).

Alarming trend. There's an eco-terrorist now heading up the Colorado State Land Board. In charge of ag as well as oil and gas leases on state owned land.

Very alarming. Many rural representatives and county commissioners spoke out against this appointment but it didn’t matter, Gov Polis maintains unchecked power in this state. Rosmarino is siginificant other to CPW Commissioner Jay Tutchton. The article also quotes self described “big game hunter” and founder/executive director of TRCP, Eric Washburn, who enthusiastically endorses Rosmarino. Washburn is a career professional lobbyist and political hack who has consistently backed anti-hunting CPW Commission appointments, supported Prop 127: mtn lion hunt ban, and openly criticizes Colorado sportsmen and women in the press. If you are upset with the continued exclusion of hunters and anglers from wildlife management and anti-hunting appointments under this administration, then Washburn is likely to blame. He is a wildlife /conservation advisor to Governor Polis.

It was nice to see a strong quote from Gaspar Perricone of CWCP included in the article.

Unfortunately, I don't see these appointments going away or being replaced any time soon. With Michael Bennet (U.S. Senator) and Phil Weiser (State Attorney General) as the top Dems running in 2026 for governor, these appointments will likely continue in place for the foreseeable future. Other than maybe Greg Lopez (former US House), the Rep's don't really have a good recognizable candidate running. Time will tell.

She only offers two time slots per month. Not really interested in guiding, it would seem.

Public Lake

We will teach you how to fly fish on a scenic mountain lake. Lakes are a great late summer option when flows are down and temps are hot. Fly Fishing for carp, tiger musky, and trout in a lake is a fun skill to add to the toolbox!

She is advertising fishing on public lakes, but she has never had a permit: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eeu7A5AafTQkWA0x5dpgynuDGdY5kdQDMpCTvVA9EMI/edit?usp=sharing

she does have an outfitters license. its "OUT.3603"

it was issues on 2/5/24 and renewed on 4/1/25.

as to a permit. she has one its for Antero reservoir. it would be interesting if someone would CORA Denver water and ask about permit usage days. i doubt she's ran one trip. ,y sources have told me she's done 2 total trips on a private pond in Jefferson, where she fished out of a canoe and needed the landowner / caretaker to basically spell it all out for her.
