It is pretty much the same as a M1A, but the reciever is marked M14NM. The reciever is the only new part, the rest are original M14 parts. The chamber is the original 7.62X51, which is essentially the same as a .308.

Thats is awesome. I have been looking for one that I can afford. I have found a few, but most were out of my price range. I have an M1 Garand and want the M1A to make the pair. Congrats again.

I love M1's as well! Here is a HRA M1 I bought on my way back from Haiti last fall with my M14.

Ive taken my M1 out a few times. Opening weekend last year I packed it into some really rough country. Its actually lighter than my Mod 70 Winchester! I like the M1's open sights for bad weather, probally the easiest to use open sights out there. The M14 is going to go bear/shed hunting with me this spring.
