Nevada is up

Congrats to all those that drew tags.

This was my first year applying for Nevada and is looking up your name in that sea of names the only way to find out if you drew. Kind of weird as there are no secrets to what tags you have drawn.

Congrats to those that drew. More points for me this year. Looking forward to some great stories and pics in a few months!

It is kind of weird, for sure.

If there is a good side to it, you can look up all the dudes who make money in the tag consulting business and see if they are applying where they tell everyone else to apply. Often that is not the case, which doesn't surprise me, and makes me laugh.

Yup, and all the other operations who are giving such advice. Carters often do apply for some of the NV units they recommend.

Others are almost laughable. This is part of the entertainment value provided by subscribing to many of these services and trying to sort out what is really going on. In some respects, I wish other states did this, so you could see who is giving the honest line and who is blowing smoke.

So I drew a desert sheep tag, but I also have a whitetail tag for the same time that I have really been looking forward to. Anyone know if I can return he desert tag and get a refund, and hopefully my points back?

That's a good one Khunter. You would be better off hunting that whitetail tag because sheep tags are a dime a dozen.

I think it's cool that they show the names along with the area drawn as well as the names with the first choice who didn't. I don't think it's a big secret where the special areas are so I don't think there's much to hide there. I can say I shot a deer in area 10 but there are several units within the area and I don't have to disclose the specific GPS coords if I don't want to. :D
