I’ve become Swaro snobbish as of late but I really think Leupold BX-4s punch way above their price point. Wife and kids enjoy them.

If you buy wisely, you can snag Sig Sauer Zulu6 HDX image stabilized binos for around $700. Total gamechanger and turns a novice "glasser" into a pro. My wife and kids love them, so much that I had to buy a second pair because they wouldn't share with me. Avoid the newer, expensive, and totally crap HDX Pro models FYI.

I also have Maven B series 15's, which are great, but I hardly take out any more since buying the Sigs. My hunting buddy runs all Swaro alpha glass (new 14 NL's, BTX, etc.) I have no desire to borrow his anymore. I'm already out and glassing for 5 minutes before he sets up his tripod.

Try and find some Zeiss Conquest HD 10x on some classifieds. Should be able to get some for $650/700 used in good condition.

I have a Vanguard spotter and binos and I'm happy with them for the amount I used them, which honestly is not enough. I did get a pair of Swaro NL Pures for xmas though and I really need to get those out now as well...and do a little testing. Not that I can return the Swaro's...but I would really love to see if there is really a diff and where it is.

Is she as patient and persistent at sitting behind tripod-mounted binos as you are? If not, you may want to consider the Sig Zulu line since you don't have to depend on a tripod for higher magnification.

Likely lower glass quality (likely- since I don't use alpha glass), but the edge on image stabilization is a game changer. My experience is with mid-range 12X Leupolds and 10X Meopta Meostars, but I've found my Zulu6 HDX 16's to be next level. The PRO's claim to have higher quality glass.

These are really hard to beat for the money imo. I have seen even new for $699 on rare occasion.

I took my wife to a friend that is an outdoors writer who had numerous binoculars. I was a little surprised when she chose the Hawks over the Swaros. She got Hawks for Xmas and loves them.

I’m a diehard Swaro guy buy I agree on the Sig. My son bought a pair. My wife used them scouting one weekend this summer. I took her out yesterday and she used the Mavens and Swaro but complained about the shaky binoculars. She wanted the image stabilized binos.

I can give you a long list of complaints about the Sigs but people love them. You should let your wife look through them.
