I offered a Merriam hunt in Nebraska at a charity auction. We headed out from Iowa on Sunday. Scouted with my friend in Chadron on Sunday night and located this flock.

Monday, we set up. At daylight a tom walks into the decoys. 5:29 AM dead bird at 34 yards. So happy for this person. First Merriam for him. He is 67 and just took up Turkey hunting 4 years ago. I am so blessed.

Great experience, thanks for sharing

We were headed back to the Pine ridge as well, but didn't buy our tags before the stoppage - next year for sure. Bumping into Bighorns while hunting turkeys is not something that happens very often :)

Nice. I volunteered for a first timer was also 68 here in Az. cause I didn't get drawn this year. Had him a bird roosted night before in a honey hole. and Opening morning He didn't feel good and went home . end of hunt. I tried..Congrats to You Guys.......................BOB!
