Naming Deer

I’ve seen both “Donner” and “Donder” this year. I grew up saying “Donner”. I know naming deer is scoffed at here on HuntTalk, but perhaps an exception can be made for Santa? Nope. Probably not.

According to the interwebs #'s 7 and 8 are "dunder" and "blixem" which means "thunder and lightning". But I always thought it was donner and blitzen.

German explorers named the Donner und Blitzen River here in Oregon, so that's what I'm going with.
