Blue tongue, chronic wasting disease, epizootic hemorrhagic disease, elk hoof disease, epizootic pneumonia…. No, this isn’t a vocabulary test. We have rampant disease spreading in so much of our wildlife. Is there a connection? Why is this happening and what do we do?

In the Northeast our warmer climate is allowing the tick populations to explode. Slowly killing off our moose herds.
We are also seeing EHD in places that haven’t had since it’s been recorded.
Warmer temps hurting Alaska’s sheep populations with thaws/ freezing making iceing conditions where there use to be snow. Take a look at the majority of caribou herd populations? Something like 70 percent are in decline.

Nope nothing to see here. All is well

Sheesh, I hadn’t even thought of the videos of “zombie moose,” and didn’t know about the Alaskan sheep situation. Woodland Caribou are/have disappeared from the North of the PNW. The elk poaching problem is Eastern Washington is ridiculous. How do any game animals survive? Maybe we need to create an “Outdoorsman’s Most Wanted,” to wake people up?

Blue tongue/ehd is caused by midge flies and frequently occurs in drought/dry conditions. It does not pass deer to deer or sheep to sheep.
