On Tuesday April 19th, I was supposed to fly to Spokane, Wa. for a meeting. I was to leave at 5:50 a.m. and be in Spokane at 11:20 a.m. Should have been a easy day to travel there. WRONG.

First my 5:50 a.m. flight was cancelled so I had to get out on the next plane a 11:20 a.m. but could have still made it to Spokane by 6:00 p.m. Well we get into the air at 11:20 and then the pilot notifies us that we have to divert due to weather in Billings and we are short of fuel. We land in Sidney Montana. Refuel and head to Billings. As we are taxiing to the gate my 2:00 p.m. Horizon Flight is taking off :BLEEP: So I get off and find out Big Sky airlines has a flight to Spokane at at 4:10 and I can get into Spokane at 5:50 p.m. Cool I can still make it :) 4:10 comes and no plane, then 5:10 and still no plane finally get airborne at 6:00 but we have to stop in Great Falls, MT. We get into Great Falls, Everybody boards the plane and the engines start turning and we begin taxiing out to the runway but return to the gate and shut down. The co-pilot had too many hours on duty that day to fly anymore |oo |oo So my I spend the night in Great Falls. I cancel my meeting in Spokane. I can't get from Great Falls to Billings except by flying from Great Falls to Salt Lake City and then back to Billings. So the next morning I am on a Delta flight to SLC. I arrive in SLC at 11:00 a.m go to the gate only to find out that the Billings airport is closed and there are no flights into to or out of Billings. :BLEEP: :BLEEP:

So I rebook a seat on a late flight hoping the airport would open up later in the evening. That flight was to take off at 9:00 p.m. Well finally get to airborne at 10:30 p.m. and can't get into Billings and have to divert to Bozeman. Another hotel room and I have to get up at 6:00 and rent a car and drive to Billings to catch a 10:15 a.m. flight back to Glasgow. I left on Tues and it is now Thurs. and I have been in 9 different airports and two different hotels and still hadn't been to Spokane. The 10:15 flight from Billings to Glasgow is delayed but finally takes off and I arrive on my doorstep at 1:00 this afternoon.

Man am I glad to be home.

And I thought my "day from Hell" on Big Sky was bad.... I too ended up in SLC....

If you spent the night in Bozeman, you should have called Greenhorn for directions to the Nudie Bar..... Or at least got his VIP Parking Spot.....

My flight Tuesday seemed better..... Let's see, went to Boise Airport, caught an on time flight to SF, and then an on-time flight to Maui..... Got off the plane and got the Hertz #1 car and was at the hotel swimming pool an hour after landing.....

That would have sucked... Looks like you had a good time seeing Eastern Montana......!!!! A L O T !!!! hope then next one works out better.
:)

EG,

I was thinking about your adventure while I was attempting to get back home. The rest of the story is that I was so tired that when I got home I decided to grab some sleep. I was sound asleep still at 5:00 p.m. when one of my buddy's woke me up and said, "Jeff, you got to go down to your office, it is an emergency." (Julie had left to "shop" at about 4:00 and taken all three kids with her) I am thing great something happened while I was gone and I am tired and VERY IRRITABLE. So I quickly throw on some old shoes, my hair is still messed up, I have showered or shaved yet. I get to the office and there are at least 40 people there who are throwing me a surprise birthday party!!! I haven't been in Glasgow long enough for anyone to celebrate my 40th so they planned it while I was gone and they got me real good. I had no idea.

Whiskers,
You are right driving would have been better but how do you know that at the start? I should have just stayed home and worked.

Sounds like a great adventure. Delta is great fun.

My favorite was my last flight. The final family move from Reno to Rapid City. The family included my emotional pregnant wife and 3 excited kids and the family/hunting dog (a GSP).

They lost my dog between Reno and Rapid City. Kids started crying. I was really getting uptight with them but the dog was found, the Delta local yocals in SLC had fed her hot dogs and coke and she was hyper as could be. She flew in 6 hours later.
