My latest project or Buddy’s next big adventure.

what are your thoughts regarding the ladder racks the solar panels are mounted on? wondering if 4 ofthem would be adequate to mount a hay rack on my horse trailer

They’re very heavy duty but for a hay rack I’d weld the crossbars where they adjust . One slides in the other with a pinch bolt , it doesn’t seem sturdy.
Maybe drilled through and a bolt all the way ?
They came with self drilling/tapping bolts for the sides .

well done! That's the kind of project that always sounds simple at the start and then eats three weekends. The planning is half the fun, though, especially when there's a trip at the end of it. I'd love to hear what the actual build involves. I once had to call the Budget Truck Rental phone number about a moving truck for a project haul, which taught me to book early

Well I suck at Antelope hunting , or picking a tag I guess .
This unit has very little public land and Elk hunters on horseback, muley hunters and me .
I’ve covered ten miles on foot each day and not seen one antelope in my unit .
Across the road , antelopes everywhere.
Today I went 3.5 miles up the first picture and when I got back there was a herd 450 yards from the truck , across the road .

Well I'm home and the trip was fantastic ! The Trailer was a big success , just a couple little things needed tweaking .
Turns out the diesel heater is finicky about the length of it's exhaust pipe at altitude . I extended it 6 feet to get it to the side but it caused it not to light , kept getting E-10 error code .
Cut the pipe and problem fixed .
The second thing was the hot water on demand took two gallons to heat up and I only have a 12 gallon tank .
The answer was a funnel and hose running back to my reservoir , run the water until it gets hot into the funnel , then shower .
We covered lots of country but came home meatless .
