I know the feeling, and ended up using a cape from my wife’s deer 5-6 years later. If I get a decent sized buck but not quite a shoulder mounter- would you want a cape? or is already at the taxi?

I’m still optimistic there’s a dead whitetail buck in my near future lol

Shoot me a PM with your digits and I’ll text you if/when I get one. I’m hoping for a biggun to shoulder mount also, of course. But if it mine turns out not quite that big, yours definitely is and should be! Lol

I was out solo hunting this morning. No story just pics , I’m exhausted from one of the hardest weeks of hunting I’ve had in a long time and I started to think it wasn’t gonna happen and then in less than 10 seconds it did….. ha ha ha

had no idea what he was other than he was a buck didn’t have time to glass him up , got him in the scope, froze him with a grunt, and then I had to walk across the canyon to see actually what I got.

He was just far enough behind the doe that winded me from where I was sitting when the wind switched that she went flying across the canyon in front of me and he must’ve been 30 to 40 yards behind her cause he went up a different ridge and then stopped broadside to me and was looking around trying to figure out what the heck was going on and why she split if he’d been in the front never would’ve had a chance

Shot him at 250 yards it dropped in the scope, that is by far the best shot I’ve ever made on a deer

Being solo there ain’t no great grip n grin that’s all I got. Public land Whitetail killed him within less than 100 yards of where I got my big three-point last year. YEE YEE
