I believe Elk are easier in the Archery season but deer are easier in the rifle season.

There is nothing easy about elk. Even if you shoot it and it lands on the road, loading it into the pickup won't be easy.

There's nothing easy about big mulies either, but at least if you see one, you have a rifle and a better chance to kill it. There isn't much more frustrating than hunting bulls during rifle season in thick cover when they won't bugle.
