MT, Turkey Tag Question

It's late here, but I'm not sure what the chart on Montana's license website is saying.

Is a fall turkey tag a special draw, or is an extra tag a special draw? If I buy an upland bird license, I can buy the tag for $55 OTC?

I haven't looked at the updated regs yet but there are some units that you have to draw a special turkey tag. Most of these are in Western MT. I believe Region 7 is still OTC for both Spring and Fall.

From my understanding after talking to the region 3 office you need to apply for both the spring and fall if you are hunting a special draw region like region 3.

The new regs are out and to my understanding you can apply for special permit areas and hope for the draw with just your conservation tag. If you draw a permit then you must purchase OTC tag to use permit. You can purchase two OTC tags but one or both must be used in region 7. So if you purchased two tags you could use one in an general area but the second must be used in region 7 spring or fall.
