MT bear bites the dust

Was hunting the SW part of the state.

I wish I had frog boots too! upon crossing the creek on the return with the heavy pack, I slipped in a hole and was waist deep in nut puckering water, could have sworn I heard a shreak from down there... man was it cold.

The biologist was pretty impressed with the head, and asked if I was going to get it scored since he's a B&C scorer, I guess thats good? :D Not sure, but would like to know about's how big it is. Going to swing by the taxi on the way to the airport to see what he came up with. We all speculated that he was in the 19.5+ range.

19.5 would be a great bear in Montana, we historically don't have bears with big craniums. I guess sleeping better than 6 months in a hole does'nt make for good head growth. Congrats.
