Dylan is a genius songwriter. As for his performances….meh…. He took his obsession of Woody Guthrie, mimicked him, and somehow it made him famous

The Tom Petty and Bob Dylan hate can not be tolerated.
I think a big part of the allure of the Grateful Dead is being part of the “club.” Similar with KISS, Phish, Insane Clown Posse Juggalos, Taylor’s ‘Swifties’ etc.
Some people enjoy being part of that fan group and I suspect a sense of community comes with it- more power to them, if people enjoy it then who am I to judge.

This could arguably be the "Dream Team" of music!
I saw an interview on the Wilburys a while back- one thing I found really interesting, especially considering the absolute superstars in that group, is that the one guy that the other members were in awe of was Roy Orbison.

How does one define " band "? I see a lot of hate for country made post 2000 and even Garth which are all valid but in a thread callled " Most overrated band of all time my mind goes more to overplayed rock or pop music. Most country acts are just solo acts with a touring band that isn't even on the record.

Honestly Van Halen is pretty overrated in my opinion. Eddie was a genius but the rest of the band was kinda mid to me.
