Morels

Anyone else in MT been out getting fresh morels? We picked just over 300 last Saturday afternoon. Things are just getting started too. Looks like it is gonna be a great year. Hoping to get out a couple times this week after work and for sure some this coming weekend.

You suck. I'm back East and missing morel season. With all the moisture I'm betting this year will be just as good as last spring.

I'll be 20 miles south of Livingston the week of June 19th this year. Think there will still be any left that late? I'll be back the first week in August but with everything so late I'm thinking the huckleberries are going to be later than that on being ripe.

If I remember correctly, the morels started slowing down about this time last year. It's been a little colder and a little wetter this year, so you've probably got another two weeks this year. Disclaimer: I found my first morels last year.

I didn't start picking huckleberries until the third week of August around Bozeman the last two years.

These are from Idaho last week. I found them while bear hunting.

I know they had been up awhile because I found a bunch with dried up caps.
