Moose 25

On the way out, we talked to hunters that flipped a 6 wheel SxS in river. On approach we came upon a guy with clothing spread all about. Asked if he's OK? He said he and his partner, crossing the river started to float. One 4 wheeler floated away. Gone. His wheeler flipped over on a gravel bar. They ended up on opposite sides of the river, his partner walked the trail out to get help. A guy across the river on a Yamaha 4x was yelling "can you bring him over?"
Looking down stream there was a wheeler upside down, headlights on.

Yeah, we can bring him over and his wheeler also.

The thing weighs like half a moose. I backed up, Kid hooks winch line to tow hitch.

Wheeler recovered. His rifle was still in the gun boot, packed with rocks. Took the guy and his wheeler across the river.

Turns out guy on Yamaha was a first responder. He got a dry bag of clothes across on a rope. Soon the Troopers showed up on a Can-Am 6x 6. The kid says "you can haul the wheeler in that", Trooper says "Nope".
After seeing all was OK, Troopers asked to see our tags. All good, they left. We gave the guy a ride out.

Hunt 2025!

Wow always an adventure with you guys! I really missed the story last year. Congratulations on filling the freezers for the long winter ahead.
