These photos are hanging up at our good friends hunting cabin above Deer Lodge, MT - From 2008. I’ve spent time up there for about as long as I can remember!
Today I’m thankful to have had a Dad who invested a passion for hunting into me; as well as all the friends who’ve played a formative part as well.
Packing animals out, smoking jerky, death hikes, truck rides, campfire stories, games of cribbage, snow storms, chaining the truck up, etc.. Special memories!
My Dad’s sick with an incurable disease these days & his hunting days are likely past & I’m now 28 with a child of my own with more on the way I’m sure. If they are interested I’m so excited to invest a love for hunting into them & also take the backseat from shooter to guide.
The Fall air always brings back so many memories.. Though life continually looks different there’s a sacredness about revisiting familiar country and reliving memories that are all so near.
Thought I’d share this post & just say I’m thankful!
The first three photos are from 2008 - The brief story is written on a cabinet door at the cabin; the last one there I proudly am in my coveralls & floppy hat with my Dad’s bull in 2009
