Montana bull...all of 1.5 hours.

Buzz and Greenhorn,
We hammered the mountains for 14 days trying to find more elk. All on public land. Our spots were covered up with people, keep hiking and working. On Saturday at 4:00 saw elk on public. Made a hard up hill hike as fast as we could . 12 degree air and 6 inches of snow…. Damn .. got two cows . 260 yards . Thanks for all your knowledge and advice.

Congrats Buzz, never pass something in the first hour that you would shoot on the last. I am one of those several days / weeks in the field to kill something but it is not because I want to suffer it is because I am not that good of a hunter lol. Also I bet Buzz feeds more households than his. Most hunters share their harvest, it is one the most rewarding parts of hunting is sharing their harvest meat with people you know.

I aspire to kill 30 elk before I die. Arbitrary goals can keep people motivated in unique ways. Whatever keeps you motivated works.
