Everything came together friday evening. I spotted what looked to be
a good bear about 8pm as he came out of the timber in the middle of
the elk. A few of the cows would have nothing to do with him and kept running
him off. It was cool to watch and see this unfold. I think this old
boy was looking for an early calf as he smelled air and and made his way
through and around the elk. Their attention was on each other and
within a half hour, I had him at 30 yards and saw that he was a
definite shooter. One shot to the heart with the 300 and I he was
done. Was very excited to to see that he had a white patch on his
chest and was a big old bruin. I called my buddy for help and we got
him down the mountain and back home at 2 am! It was an awesome night
to be in the sticks.

Congrats! Spring bear hunting just looks like too much fun. It's on my 'to-do' list...

Congrats on a great bear. Looks like a great hide, especially for this late in the season.

NICE!! That last pic really shows how big he is. You did good. Congrats!!!
