So I have been trying to get minutes from past NRC meetings and are not published SINCE August 2025! Got nowhere. Finally sent note to my legislative representative and give him props! Immediate contact to MIDNR to 1) publish the Minutes 2) what actions are they going to take to improve transparency? The lack of not give a crap is not going to fly. I will keep the pressure on until this is resolved.

Wildlife decisions originate here and the actual minutes of what was said, actions to be taken etc need to be clearly stated and documented in print.

The more the merrier so send similar note to your legislative representative to add more presdure.

The DNR recently got back to me with an explanation. Here's what they had to say:

"Currently, the minutes absent from the website do not meet accessibility requirements and can't be posted until they meet those requirements. This is complicated because we are short staffed and this is a time-consuming process to complete. We do have someone hired to assist with the NRC, but they have not come on board yet. They will be joining us in May."

They also mentioned that you can request for minutes directly by emailing [email protected], and to put "NRC Meeting Minutes" in the subject line so it can be sorted out easily. I am happy to do this on your behalf if you would like to access them early, but it sounds like the missing minutes should be made public at some point next month. Our office will monitor to ensure this action is carried out.

DNR BS. So after 8 months and a legislative inquiry, they state hiring someone.

I won't go into the failed interactions I've had when attempting to deal with Michigan NRC and/or DNR. In my opinion they are both run by private hunting & fishing groups with deep pockets that can provide "scientific" data to support their cause and crush any opposing views.
