Medicine Bow elk and bear

So after not getting a tag in Colorado this year I am going for a ride with a fried to WY 110 for a cow elk tag he has Oct 1st for 10 days or so. Do you guys think it'd be worth me buying a black bear tag also in that area ? The bear harvest in area 8 bear area looks decent. I'm guessing we'll end up hunting the upper part of the unit as its higher elevation and last years fire didn't go there but time will tell. Neither of us have hunted that area, if anyone has any tips we'd be happy to hear. Thanks

I've spent a lot of time in 110 and haven't seen a bear (have seen tracks). I would just focus on the elk hunt.

It couldn't hurt to buy one. Just make sure to check the mortality hot line each day to see if the quota has been met.

I plan on being in that area starting September 21. Elk tag in pocket, bear tag if I start seeing them.

I've seen a few bears in that area but I wouldn't say its common to see them. More than likely I would say you won't see one but if you do, you will wish you had a tag.

I was there last yr for 8 days in mid Sept and never saw a bear, found one fresh pile of scat and that's it.

If you don't have a tag, you'll probably see a bear!
