I'm going elk hunting near Gallup New Mexico next year and, being optimistic, I'm looking for advice or recommendations on a meat processor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't know about meat folks up in Gallup.
Rusty's in Springerville,AZ is good.
Go south on 35 to Quemado and west on 60. Nice ride thru NM & the White Mtns and Prescott/Sedona on way home. Or straight up 180 to 40 again.

If you want to spend a day or two in Chama (about three hours North of ABQ), then you can drop off your meat at Lobo Taxidermy. Stay at the Vista Del Rio, and have some great meals in town. Or you can still stay in Chama, and take it to Hometown Grocery in Antonito, Co (about 45 minutes N of Chama).
Hometown does a better job, and is cheaper, but it's not as close or convenient as Lobo in Chama.

Congratulations on getting a NM tag, I have a meat processing and taxidermy shop in Kirtland, NM 100 miles north of Gallup. We can process overnite or we ship all over the country. Check out our website www.mgsenterprises.com
