Maven Rangefinders?

I have had one for about 3 years and like it it a lot. It felt a little bulky at first when archery hunting but I got used to it quickly. I had a cheap Leupold before that which I was never happy with.

Could try to get it to you to test out for a bit if you wanted to try it out.

Yes. I have one. The rf1 - not the cs more budget model.

To be honest - i like the dial (esp for controlling brightness) and glass a lot - but for whatever reason it doesnt seem to scan quite as fast as my sig (its got nowhere near the distance rating). On top of that - the delay to the initial range seems slow, and im not patient. The open/tree mode doesnt seem overly useful ekther It stays home a lot, especially during archery, for that reason.

Thay being said It will range 1800-2k reliably and ive got as far as 4k though. Under rated for seeing if an animals on public or not or other scouting.

I picked up the RF.1 (7x25) last year. So far it's been great. Agree with Forkyfinder with the dial, the brightness adjustment is very nice. I was using an ancient Bushnell range finder previously, so that's what I have to compare it too, it's not even close. The glass clarity and report for all ranges I use it for has been top notch.

Zero complaints.

Do you find it to be slow?

I have one. Does not work well in low light conditions.

I might very well take you up on that. You going to be needing it over Memorial Day?

I have the RF1 and it is outstanding. Aside from some bulk, it is accurate, quick and easy to use.

My Sig 2000 was good for many years, but kicked the bucket last year. Will likely get a Leupold Full Draw for when I am archery hunting and us my Maven RF1 for any rifle/ml hunting.

I bought the CS and it was absolute trash. I chose that model because it was a smaller, and I mainly archery hunt. I also didn't like the external knob on the RF.1. Coming off using the same range finder (Nikkon) that I had for 15 years, I thought it was user error. I struggled with getting it to range all deer season here in Florida and I made excuses for it. Took it to New Mexico and realized it wasn't me, the darn thing couldn't range effectively at any distance in wide open country. Almost cost me a nice buck that I ended up guessing for in the heat of the moment.

Come to find out, I'm not the only one. Alot of users were having similar issues with the CS. Maven wanted to replace with another CS, but my confidence was gone. I pushed back and they have me a credit, which I used for the RF.1. It's a better rangefinder for sure, but bulky. One handed retrieval from my AGC rangefinder pouch isn't happening. As expected, the external knob is annoying. Haven't tested in big country yet.

If I was a long range shooter, I may not have any complaints. For my use case (mostly archery) it's not ideal.
