The .264/6.5mm is a phenomenal bullet. It’s got SD that is unparalleled with weights 120 <170grain. My bucket list includes a walnut-stocked Sako in 6.5 Swede. The other ones are a lot of fun too, like the 6.5 Grendel or the rocket zipper .264 Win. The potential of the 277 Fury is the great beyond and it’s fitting the 6.5 lead that charge.

But the 6.5 Creedmoor is weak. It was definitely designed as a sparkly playtoy to capture the NA market because we always chase the new thing. It’s weak because it doesn’t do anything to substantially maximize the potential of that bullet that wasn’t already done in the Swede. But short action! Yeah, so what? Especially in a bolt gun, who really cycles remarkably faster with a short case over standard length? So there’s my outrage.
