Got back from the little roadtrip. Made the loop from Bozeman and Billings and then up to the breaks via Roundup. I really liked that Roundup/Grass Range area, very nice. Also liked Malta as well. The CMR game preserve, at least what I saw of it, was pretty awesome too. Don't think I will be over there hunting any of it, but it was great to see, I was just wishing it wasn't so bloody hot so we could get out and about a little more, but with a 2 yo and a 4 yo, enough was enough.

See any whitetails? I hope to kill my first whitetail in that state this fall.

Is the Milk River really that special? To me watching all of the Realtree hunts, I've never seen anything that much different than a lot river bottom areas across the state.

I don't think it is THAT special, but it has been made famous by the hunting shows. In fact, I believe more B&C bucks come from the nw counties in MT, but God help someone trying to get footage of these big timber bruisers in this thick brush and trees.

You know, I started out in Sweetgrass MT, moved to Eureka when I was in grade school and have only been over the hline on the train, and then hunted the Crazies-south to West Yellowstone, Gardiner. Just always kind of skirted the east-central-north country. So we were out there, so I informed my wife we were going home a different way this time.

A few guys I know here are always hunting the breaks, they talk about it like it is heaven. So I wanted to take a look. Big country for sure, I wouldn't know where to start when it came hunting it. I supposed someone coming over up here would feel the same way.
