Letter writing 101 - tips for writing an effective letter

Writing letters/emails may be pretty pointless. Calling is where it's at.
That's good to know - I'll call more often. I suspect when they get a ton of letters on the same topic that say the same thing they go in a yes/no pile. On the other hand, I've had staff call back to answer my letters on a couple of occasions so someone at least thinks about the content.

Maybe Montanans should start letters to Zinke saying "Look, I don't want to hear about you being a fifth generation Montanan again as you lost to someone who was born to a 50th generation Montanan." If he starts answering by saying how awesome of a Seal he was then we know someone reads them.

This seems like a good time to send this old thread back to the top and collect new ideas for effective communication with politicians. A lot has changed since 2016.

I'm drafting emails now and am searching for ideas to be more productive in our current circumstances.
