Let's see your antelope rifle.

Nice lever gun! My last antelope was with an old 1893 Marlin. Will fill some doe antelope tags this year with another old Marlin.

What powder are you using?

20171112_102911.jpg Couldnt find a good pic with an antelope but there she is, m700 7mm Rem Mag, been used on well over 2 dozen antelope, by myself and others and is my go to rifle for everything except when I'm coyote hunting and has been for 10 years. It now has a Timney trigger, B&C Medalist stock, lugs and barrel lapped, Leupold VX-3 3.5-10. Waiting on this barrel to be shot out to convert it to 7mm Practical/7mm-.300

I would like to use my Savage Model 12 FCV .223 Rem for a doe or fawn one day

The scenery is prettier than the rifle.. Mossberg 100 ATR .30/06, Timney trigger, Boyd's stock, Bushnell Legend Ultra 3-9x50. Remington Core-Locts. Not fancy, but functional. I use it for probably 75% of my big game hunting, pronghorn to elk.

Here's my fairly recently required back-up rifle. It'll be coming along to Wyoming also. Remington 700 .30/06, Grayboe stock, pillar and glass bedded, Leupold VX-3i 3x9-40. Remington Core-locts.

You can kill an antelope with a percussion rifle? Who'd a guessed. Nice rifle, looks like a hefty bore. What make is it? Home build perhaps?

Flinters work too.\
