I found this on a hike in my hunting area. I wonder how many like this are never found

Found this guy in a pond, on a friends lease in Illinois. EHD was a big problem for the herd this year.

Found this one last year. Haven't been able to look around yet this year.

Not so interesting

Here is my car after hitting a mule deer near Wall SD - 2am going about 85mph. My father was asleep in the passenger side. Pretty rude awakening

The whole deer is under the rocks, it appears as though it was bedded down against the cliff wall and became a victim of a rockslide.

Many years ago I was out on a hike in a local hunting area. I think it was Jan. 9th, or maybe earlier. Came across a skeleton of a blacktail that was about the size of a spike elk (you had to see it). The antlers had been shed. I spent two years trying to find the sheds, but never did.

Another time I found a skeleton almost as big while out hunting. This time the antlers were intact and I recognized the deer as being the biggest one I'd seen all summer while scouting the area. They went 19 5/8" wide.

Hmmm.

Elk was found around Seeley, not sure if it was gut shot or what, all meat seemed to be intact. Sheep was in Upper Rock Creek, I assume his death had something to do with the chunk out of the back of his drivers side horn.
