9.5 miles back. Woke up to elk in the meadow at sunrise, dozed back off and woke up to a curious doe sniffing around our tents. First photo was taken through the mesh screen seen in second photo
One of the funnest non-hunting backpack trips I’ve done. Hoping to get out for another this summer…

Found a dry island which thankfully was out of the mosquito zone. Sure showed how much more elevation and miles my legs need to get into hunting shape. Wasn't the ideal tent (protrail li) for being exposed, as it's a bit of a sail, but luckily wind stayed low. In the trees it's awesome and light.

New to me 2005 model camper. My son and I had been hunting out of a small 15’ camper. It had a low ceiling and with me at 6’2” and him already 6’4”, it was too cramped. This one is 20’ with a taller ceiling and is just right. It will be elk camp this year. IMG_4790.jpeg

That is incredible. I'm sure it is fairly normal for you but seems like a completely different world than what I have ever experienced.
It's definitely "normal" for us, but I am thankful and amazed to live in such beauty every day.
