I have looked through past years and cant find anything and what I did confused me.

If I dont draw an elk combo do I have to get on the alternate list or are the returned tags a first come first serve?

I am not looking to hunt deer just a general elk tag.

IIRC the elk combos have not yet been oversubscribed so it should be a gaurenteed draw. If not, you need to wait for tags to be turned in and they are posted every Wednesday throughout the late spring and summer.
