Kitchenaid Stand Mixer maintenance

Not to get off track but what do you use them so much for? I bought one about 12 years ago and I think I used to twice to make cookies and about twice a year for making zucchini noodles.
It gets a lot of abuse getting double batches of sourdough started.

I picked up an aftermarket dough head that operates smoother and I try to stay a little higher hydration these days so it’s not as tough on it.

I have 2 stand mixers. I normally use my 6qt kitchen aid the most just becasue it is smaller than my 7qt viking. But i use mine all the time. From the million cheesecakes i make, to pasta, cookies, bread. They are the best for shredding meat. I use the juicer a lot to make various sauces. The slicer attachment works great too. I did try to process a deer with mine and the motor went on it. That was grind and stuff through it. I had them upgrade the motor to the commercial one and have not had issues since. Also have not done a deer with it either. i do like the meat grinder for small batches if i want to grind a handful of pounds.

I would say i use mine a few times a month.

I use mine 1-2 times a week. I've been making bread weekly for 20 years and between that and a career working on a computer my wrists can't take kneading bread like they used to do the mixer is very welcome. My other big use is grinding meat. I bought an all stainless meat grinder attachment a number of years ago after my wife overloaded the kitchen aid branded plastic one and cracked if in half. I find that grinding as I need it and freezing my game meat cubed in 1 lb packages works just fine. Never felt the need for a dedicated grinder that way.
