Kids and Opening Weekend

Man, Interior Alaska is having it rough! Warm September and lots of extra water.
General Consensus I've heard is not alot of bird movement. I took my kids out and we saw one group of Shovelers I missed on (Thats whay I get for no warm up trap shooting this year) and then we had three cranes that came in to my Short Reed goose call (Gander Valley PCS) but wouldn't committ as I didn't have any geese in my set. HAHA.
Kids had a good time and I'm fired up to try to get back out there so I guess those are positives!

What would be a good Shotgun for a 10-12 year old to start with for a waterfowl gun?

Winchester is going put a compact 20 gauge SX4 on the market. I believe it’s a 24”, I will take a long look at this gun.

Franchi affinity 3 compact. A little pricey but we tried them all and its definitely the best balanced and best fitting for that age group.
