I think the punishment wasn't harsh enough. I am sure it cost more money tracking him down and having him sent back to Idaho.

Seems like light punishment for an elk. Hell they will take your truck and gun and lock you up for a week or two in Oklahoma just for poaching a whitetail. Doesnt make sennse to fine the guy less than what a guided hunt would have cost for the same animal.

Ya, they caught the scumbag, but like most blatant poaching cases they don't get their due.
JMHO loss of hunting priviledges for life and unlawful to own firearms. Just won't happen in my lifetime and all of this to get his name out there.
