So some how I didn't see a single whitetail during the season...now I was only there 4 days but still, I had seen plenty during turkey season and my 1 summer trip. I saw mule deer, coyotes, turkeys, 1 overly large skunk, snakes and believe it or not a cow elk. I guess I will try again during the rifle season but time may be limited then as Colorado has a season at the same time. here is a picture of the elk although it was with my phone at about 80 yards so its not the best. It had been slight drizzle all night and morning so I left the video camera at camp.20180930_093119.jpg

Great time to find a good buck coming to ag fields, but also a hot time of the year. Deer usually just moving early and late. Were you on public?

That's pretty cool you got to see an elk in Kansas but a bummer no whiteys. I'd recommend getting back there as a $500 whitetail tag soup would be hard for me to swallow. Most people don't realize in Kansas muzzleloader tags are good for rifle as well. Best of luck if you make it back out.

Yes I was on public.. and dont I know the thought of even 2 does for that price is pretty steep Prairie
