Or at least it feels like it.

Missed all of last hunting season due to an overseas deployment. I knew I would miss archery season this year, but plan was to be home in time for rifle deer. Put in for late tags, without success. The last few months I have been getting the hunting itch pretty bad, and it tripled when my son drew a bull tag.

Just got word that plans changed and we are extended another month.

Don't get me wrong, I am proud to serve and love the work and my job. Could be a lot worse ( I'm not dodging bullets, we are patching up heros and sending them home ).

But deer season is out,

My kids elk tag is late, should still make it.

Keep up the awesome pics and stories. I will be a daily visitor. Passed this site on to a few buddies here as well. Helps scratch the itch.....

First let me say that we appreciate your service and the sacrifices you make. Just remember, when you do make it home and have time to hunt, you live in the Idaho, in the Rocky mountains. You will have a multitude of opportunities. It could be a lot worse. Come home safe.

ERSS:

Thanks for your service. We all appreciate it and wish you a safe return.

Well, the hunting liscense here for all military (regardless of non-residence here) is the instate price, i.e. cheaper, and the season goes into Jan. for deer. Exotics are year round, including hogs.
