Iowa Wolf

Interesting story. Seems like there have been wolves showing up in many states that you would not expect during the last few years.

In general most large predators seem to be doing well these days.

For years the Ks Dept of Wildlife denied we had mountain lions and then too many kept showing up on game camera's and dead on the road side for them to deny their presence. Now we have had confirmed wolf sightings and kills kind of like this one along with bear, and even yes Moose. I found a dead pronghorn on the roadside a few years ago and although we do have them this one was well over 100 miles from it's range. I took some photos of a mule deer on the far eastern part of the state and really thought I had a find but when I contacted the fish and game they said " oh yeah they wander over to this part of the state from time to time"

One young mountain lion that was found dead was collared and he had been in collared in South Dakota.

Game and Parks can no longer deny the existence of mountain lions in Nebraska and even got a quasi-season through. They don't say much about the wolves, but I know of at least two that were shot and "forgotten". The populations are increasing and they travel extreme distances just like coyotes and lions do.

It bothers me that the stupid article even suggests that there may have been something morally wrong with killing a wolf. Incredible! No such thing as being morally wrong killing a predator.
