I'll never forget a hunt with my dad over 20 years ago. We were in a blind a decent buck came out dad pulled up his open sight winchester model 94 30-30 and took aim. And aimed and aimed some more then put the gun down. When questioned why he said "son I can see the deer, the front post, and rear sight but not at the same time. It's hell getting old."

Similar issue with my dad last year, sucks!

One of my favorite types of school girls like this guy is “I’m not a social media guy” But I post pictures of my kills on social media for anyone to see.

What a tool….and a thief.

In March 2017, Kentucky residents
Ricky J. Mills and Jimmy G. Duncan were convicted of poaching two bull elk in Wyoming after a viewer spotted the illegal kills on the TV show "Hunting in the Sticks". The duo, from Bedford, Kentucky, were fined nearly
$31,000$ 31 comma 000
and lost hunting privileges for 15 years in 44 states.

Key details of the case include:
  • The Incident: In 2014, the men shot two bull elk in the wrong Wyoming hunting district while filming for their show.
  • Conviction & Penalties: Jimmy Duncan was ordered to pay
    $17,500$ 17 comma 500
in fines/restitution, and Ricky Mills was ordered to pay
    $13,460$ 13 comma 460
. Both forfeited their elk mounts.
  • Detection: A viewer recognized that the area shown in the "Western Redemption" episode did not match the area on their licenses.
  • Additional Violations: Investigations revealed Duncan had also illegally poached an antelope in 2013.
  • Consequences: Both men were entered into the Wildlife Violator Compact, preventing them from hunting in 43 other states.

I do a lot of scouting and all my efforts are kept in secret. If asked how successful I was I will tell them, without photos unless it doesn’t reveal anything. My Manager would alway want the exact location or he wanted me to show him. He expected to be shown. Now, i dont say anything

I took a 9hr roadtrip yesterday to drop some guns at a gunsmith for some work. Listened to a couple podcasts.

This one is a TRAINWRECK. Definition of irony. So bizarre..

Yea he shouldn’t have released that episode. To be fair he was really caught off guard and has some regrets of handling that whack job. It could be ironic but also telling of a how some people are out there. The fame/attention that dude wanted is no different than some influencers.

I've not listened to any HQ podcasts, but I see the IG thumbnail shows that the guest is David Mercado. I have a pile of emails from David. Supposedly he was a police officer in Casper Wyoming. He emailed me about a tag he drew, right in his backyard. He said he knew I hunted it by getting my film permit from the BLM via FOIA.

I told him to reach out to me later in the summer, as I was on the road and I'd try to help. He emailed me later, by which time I was gone for a couple months. When I got home, I had an email from him giving me an earful for not helping him in time. He left it with the threat that I would regret not helping him.

He's made it his business to publish many of my hunting locations, using the FOIA and all of the information I have in those film permits. He also told me that he gets my application information by calling WYG&F.

Rather than post a pile of his rather comical emails, here's an example of how he does his scouting. If these are the kind of guests HQ has on podcasts ...........

I listen and follow HQ and TBH was VERY disappointed with the David Mercado episode and couldn't finish it either. The podcast was more or less fine until we got into the Grizzly Incident and how he's essentially a law abiding convicted felon who somehow still finds trouble with the law...

Pretty sure the guy was never a Police Officer either, came from a rough background and got in trouble with the law from a young age. From the podcast, the guy is an embellisher, Lier and should stay off of social media altogether.
