In the wise words of poetic phenom Fred Durst, have you ever had “just one of those days?”

As many of you know I was to go scouting for elk this weekend, but it turned not one of those days. Extremely long story short:

1. I awake to a text from my cousin that my Godmother, my Mom’s compadre and last sibling of a big Minnesota farming family, is riddled with cancer and is being moved to hospice unexpectedly.

2. I wait for my Mom to wake up, and have a very hard conversation with her.

3. I make the tough choice to hook up the trailer and go scouting and while hooking up brush my bald ass head against the trailer. No pain… lots of blood. Damn stainless steel furnace vent.

4. I pull out bandaged up and my truck says, “No!” My right turn signal isn’t working. I hop out and check stuff. I learn I somehow manage to smash/cut my harness…

5. This leads to an entire day of replacing the connector. At this moment, at minimum, my running lights are still not working.

I’m going to work on it for no more than an hour and then call it. Maybe God is telling me to just go hang with my Mom?

Have you had, “one of those days?”

I’m of a different mind. Your mom is probably tougher than you and I together and don’t need a babysitter.
If you asked she probably say -Live your life to the fullest, or something like that.
Cycle of life , and old people get it .
Sorry about the GM , that sucks .
Good luck whichever way you go .

Hope all works out for you. I got up at 3:00am, loaded up the dog and headed out to scout for my son’s muzzy muley hunt. Well almost headed out as the Jeep was deader than a mackerel . So fixing Jeep and watching football instead today

Yep, but I’m actually feeling called to leave the trailer and just go support my Mom for a few days. Actually reflect priorities. Mom’s 80, and in great shape. However, she’s 80…

'Id do just about anything to have another good day with my mom or dad.

Yer a good kid. I don't care what anyone says. :)
