Idaho Unit 22

I have hunted unit 22 last year for the A tag (cow). I have put on the miles this summer trying to put in the homework, but it appears there aren't a whole lot of elk on public ground. I am wondering if anyone else that has hunted the unit can confirm this or point me in the right direction.

Pretty sure there are quite a few elk on public land.... hunted that unit for years, i've shot 2 spikes, a cow, and 6x5 with my bow in 5 season's hunting 22 and my wife has hunted it with the rifle cow tag 4 times and has shot 3 cows with the rifle, there are lots of elk on public but also lots of people hence the reason I switched unit's last year. Go where there's nobody else that usually will get you into the elk. Good luck,
