Idaho spring bear

I'm considering a spring bear hunt in Idaho this year.What are some of the better areas for a 1st timer to Idaho?I'm in good shape and enjoy the back country.Looking for an area with a reasonable chance at a bear if I put in the work.I want to combine this hunt with a little future elk hunt scouting.Not looking for specific spots just a good unit.Thanks for any help

I would loook at drawing one of the controlled hunts for S & S. Units 22 and 23 I think. Good luck. The other side of the Snake in OR has some good bear country, for S & S bear.
