Here's another one. I just heard about it from Idaho Wildlife Federation.

Line 5: UNDER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS STATE AGENCIES SHALL BE REQUIRED TO RECEIVE PERMISSION FOR ACQUISITION OF LAND FROM COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Line 30: State agencies shall make a prioritized list of all parcels of property that they have acquired and shall sell into private ownership any parcels that are not necessary to their public purpose.

So, who will get to decide if land is "necessary"?

Looks like an attempt to get the state to sell some land. Probably being done in case the transfer of federal land happens someday.

When people say that states have no plans to sell the lands or that states only sold state land in the past, slap this in front of their faces. This legislation is being proposed right now (Feb 2017) by members of the same party who just months ago promised they would not sell any state lands if they were to receive federally managed public lands. The threat is very, very real.

So this gets wonderful bill gets a print hearing, but when the majority of sportsmen and women support paying more out of pocket for conservation, that bill goes straight to the garbage can?

The controlling party's priorities are clearer not aligned with us.
