Idaho Non resident elk tag sell out?

Hey folks,

Im heading down from Canada to chase elk in Idaho and was wondering if the non resident OTC tags sell out most years, if and when? Might have another guy join last minute and need to know what the tag situation is for A tag archery tags.

Depends on the zone. If your zone isn't listed here then it doesn't have a quota and it's unlimited.

Prepare to see numbers dropping more rapidly after the 2nd draw results come out, and people run to buy their general tags.

Man, I remember in the not to distant past that a Selway B tag was darn near impossible to get, now you can buy them over the county, SMH!

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Depends on the zone.

As of right now, Residents can buy Non-resident tags as a second tag. They are even on sale through the end of this month. That said, many of those units are highly unlikely to sell out. The hot one's are already sold out. That said, no guaranty's.

The NR Elk quota is 10,415 with 8,874 remaining today. NR elk and deer tags used to sell out annually. I think it's been 5+ years since either sold out.
