Those of you who aren't in the know. Couple new fires started the bigger one is off of Hwy 20 north of Mountain Home. It's running up on Bennett Mountain. 1500 as of last night.
Lake Fire out of Burgdorf to the east of there 100 acres last night.
Big Grass the monster of all monsters. 450,000 plus jumped the south fork of the Owyhee headed southish towards Nevada. Plus the fight they have around Triangle area.
Then we have Double Springs fire 1200 acres or so. Off of Double Springs road on the Lost River range.
We've been lucky so far this season in central Idaho but it could change in a flash of lightning. Also Central Idaho is in Stage 1 fire restrictions now as of yesterday.

There is that, I’d love to see a fire in my principle elk AO, been quite a while, but it has to be just right. The longer an area goes without a fire the harder it is for it to be just right.
Went for a 5 mile two grand elevation change in my A/O couple days ago. Wife, worked as a forester in the same area for years, asked how it went. I don’t want to hunt No tellum canyon again and I sure as hell don’t want to kill something in there. So much blow down I said. Can’t see how I can hunt that spot anymore. A fire in there this year would likely be too much of a good thing, at 70 I’m not likely to benefit from it too much anyway:)

Has anyone taken a look at the closure for this fire? It's unreal. Duck Valley to Burneau. Then across Hwy 78 to 95 back to Jordan Valley. The whole SW corner is closed.
