Idaho Elk Unit 46 this December Info Rqst

Anyone have good local knowledge of elk hunting in Unit 46 in December. I'm guessing it is their wintering grounds or they migrate through there. This is my last ditch effort for my first elk with my Super Hunt tag.
I'm a Marine stationed in 29 Palms and I can't get there until the Christmas holidays.

I can't help you with local knowledge of Unit 46 but if you ever make it to South Texas I'll take you deer, wild boar and waterfowl hunting. I was stationed at 29 palms back in 1993. Had many a beer at the Warrior Club. Semper Fi.

I would get in contact with the local biologist and they will give you all the info you'll need. Best of luck and keep us posted. I as well was lucky enough to draw an elk super tag this and it was a blast.
