They are asian carp I believe, one of the river systems ( around the mississippi)got hammered by them big time. This is one reason why game and fish depts are very critical about transportation of non native fish into there waterways.

the wake of boats cause the fish to jump like that, I saw a news article on it last year.

I have six Grass Carp in my pond for weed control and I must have a Permit to have them. I think I remember something about the carp being sterile. I know if I no longer want this batch they must be destroyed. They are around 16 or 20 pounds and sound like a cinderblock dropped from a 10 story building when scared. John
