How many 80" bucks do you think hunters just pass on by?

Buzz is the expert in this arena... Buzz. Buzz is your guy. I think his name is Buzz. He fights hard for your rights as a non resident... he's there arguing for us non residents to hunt. Might want to have his back.

I drew a tag and killed a 79 5/8 antelope due to the little help he gave me. Oh yeah his name is Buzz. If Buzz asks for help ... might want to pay attention to Buzz. Anywhere in Wyoming Buzz is kind of the guy to ask....

If Buzz asks we should all kind of step up...

I watched 2 guys drive up and pass this buck. He doesn't look it but he's big. I'd shoot him again without hesitation. I was so happy being in THE BALLPARK of Boone and Crockett.

Heavy above the prong. Bigger than anything I’ve killed.

Easily the hardest animal to score on the hoof. I have been fooled many times in both directions.
💯. I love pronghorn meat, so shooting one is first priority for me. But if I’m being choosy with bucks, I leans towards freaky vs. score. I’ve had my eye on one this year that has decent length, mass and prongs, but is super wide. Really unique buck. If only I had a tag…

A few people have seen him and said, "Well, knowing he doesn't make books would you still shoot him."

"Bang." "Bang a thousand times over."

I own what my friends call the greatest collection of almost... ALMOST BOOK.

I wouldn't hesitate on any of those hunts to do the same thing. If I'm in the ballpark of what others call good that's enough.

I've taken Doe deer and antelope and felt better about it than the biggest bucks I have.

Buzz nailed it with his response. I took this buck in '21 and after telling my group that any tag filled on day 1 better be damn special, I almost passed on this guy on the first morning after thinking he wasn't much over 12". Now as you can see, length isn't his strong suit but between his body size (he dwarfed the other bucks in the area) and his huge mass, especially above the prong, he had me second guessing myself. I preached all summer that mass is king, and I was very glad my brother was over my shoulder to use my words against me and bring me to my senses. He was officially scored at 81" gross 7 months after I shot him so he's no booner but I just feel like he's a perfect example of what this thread is all about.

When the best is is separated from average by a couple inches it illustrates the ridiculous concept of trophy hunting pronghorn.

The true trophy when it comes to pronghorn is found on the grill. Medium rare, lightly seasoned. Enjoyed with special people.

There was no passing the buck my dad killed this year. However there was a buck his guide liked that I couldn’t see the value of.

After looking at a picture through the spotting scope the low prongs turned out to be probably over 7 inches maybe more but I worried the second measurement was going to be way above the prongs.

I hope someone kills that buck so I can know if his big prongs made up for being low.

Anyway. Here is an 82 inch buck and an 83 year old hunter.
